Nemoria saturiba Ferguson, 1969. [7034]

Nemoria saturiba male, collected 23 March 2008,
Colleton Co., South Carolina. Specimen above unusual in showing the
residual small white spots on abdomen in the center of the broader dark
red patches. More typical saturiba abdominal markings at right
and below.

| While similar to
Nemoria lixaria
in wing appearance
and red terminal line markings, Nemoria saturiba can be
distinguished from lixaria by the distinctive red patches on the
abdomen in place of the sharp white spots found on
Nemoria lixaria
and
Nemoria bistriaria.

above right). Larval form is quite distinct from other Eastern
Nemoria species and easily distinguish saturiba from
