Dichorda iridaria, adult male, collection of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (CMNH). Specimen collected Palmetto State Park, Gonzales Co., TX, 13-X-1985 .
 
Unmistakable adult form in the eastern United States with relatively large adult size, broad white pm line, and white wash and striations across fore and hind wings, typically creating white "rays" along the wing veins between the pm line and the wing margin.. Prominent black discal spots on all four wings.

Larvae feed on species of sumac,
Rhus copallina and Rhus typhina.
