Chlorosea banksaria banksaria, adult male. Collection of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia (ANSP). Collected Plumas Co., California 1 July 1918.

Chlorosea banksaria gracearia, adult male. Collected Los Angeles Co., CA 25 May 2005.

This distinctly marked foreleg  from the C. banksaria at left shows three colors on the femur and tibia in bright green followed by an orange band shading into strong rose color.

Note the pink abdominal patches that help to distinguish Chlorosea banksaria from Chlorosea nevadaria, which has an unmarked green abdomen. The rose colored patches on abdominal segments A1 and A2 are particularly well defined on the specimen at left from Salem, Oregon. (Collection of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History)
